55 Shells by Frankie Brown, a free pattern on Ravelry!

The pattern I was test knitting has been published! It’s called the Seaham Sheer Poncho by Brenda Burrell, for sale on Ravelry for £2.50.
I was looking through Brenda’s other designs and found this nice shrug pattern - Palindrome Derivative Hug - and it’s free, too! I think I need to make something like this for the summer.

brendadada on Ravelry was looking for test knitters for her design, a cowl/poncho. I thought the design looked interesting and I had suitable yarn in my stash so I jumped at the opportunity. Only when I read the pattern did I realize it was another one with contiguous sleeves! :) Apparently I’m attracted to the method and it does indeed fit me nicely.

I’ve got a little ways to go still on my Glacial Poncho but the pattern should be available on Ravelry any day now.

Last night I dreamed that #Ravelry was shut down overnight. Millions of knitters were planning their revenge. Casey went into hiding.

Someone on Ravelry requested a PDF version of the Warm Winter Mitterns because they had trouble printing the pattern off the website. So I made one. Here it is!

This pair of finely detailed mittens is inspired by 600 year old Chinese porecelain vases created during the Ming Dynasty. Like the original artworks, these mitts are adorned with geometic and organic images such as dragons and florals.

This year is just flying by! It’s time once again for NaKniSweMo, my annual response to NaNoWriMo, at which I have failed many times.

These days, we’ve got our own HQ over at Rav, so join us there!

Why try to knit a sweater in less than a month? Well, there’s fame, glory and prizes, among other things, plus the applause of your knitterly peers. So join us, and make tomorrow’s cast on count!

(via NaKniSweMo already?!)

Something new on the needles: Bella Paquita in Araucania Nature Wool, colorway “Eggplant”.

For reals this time: the cabled DROPS cardigan pattern has finally been translated to English. And it’s on Ravelry, too. Is it too hot to start knitting winter garments?
