brendadada on Ravelry was looking for test knitters for her design, a cowl/poncho. I thought the design looked interesting and I had suitable yarn in my stash so I jumped at the opportunity. Only when I read the pattern did I realize it was another one with contiguous sleeves! :) Apparently I’m attracted to the method and it does indeed fit me nicely.

I’ve got a little ways to go still on my Glacial Poncho but the pattern should be available on Ravelry any day now.

It was a gorgeous, sunny day outside so I finally had the chance to take photos of some projects that have been finished for who knows how long.

This sweater is basically the same pattern I test knit in September/October 2011. The only changes I made was to the collar and cuffs. Instead of the lace rib in the pattern, I worked them flat in 2x2 ribbing and added buttons. The collar can be worn open or buttoned up as a turtleneck.

Besides the NaKniSweMo 2011 project, I have another sweater on the needles.

This one uses the same basic pattern that I test knit, only I’m doing the collar and cuffs a bit differently: k2, p2 ribbing and adding buttons.

There’s a name for the yummy turtleneck sweater I test knit: Vaahtokarkki (Marshmallow) by Pirkko Jokela

The test knit is finished! It took me about two weeks but there were a couple of false starts and lots of frogging because I didn’t read the pattern as carefully as I should have. :)

I’m calling this one Frostbitten although the pattern doesn’t have an official name yet.

Love it! I want to make another one!

Test knitting a sweater pattern in Drops Andes for The Knitting Cow. I’ve never used the contiguous sleeves method before but I’m a convert! And the yarn is just soft and super warm.
