The advent calendar shawl was another project that didn’t get finished quite according to schedule. Instead of being finished for Christmas, I managed to get it done by Easter.

The shawl tagged along when we went to see Iron Sky in the movies, and some of the motifs remind me of zeppelins hauling meteors, hence the name.

I’ve already cast on another lace shawl: the Anona Shawlette.

This lace stole was knitted way back in July 2009. I’ve never really used it much because I don’t usually wear stoles. Someone on Ravelry (I forgot who) had a brilliant idea for unused rectangular stoles: sow the ends together to make an infinity cowl! I might just do that because this is too gorgeous to be tucked away in the back of the closet.

Mods:

  • I used a DK-weight yarn instead of the lace weight specified in the pattern.
  • Didn’t do the edging because I didn’t have enough yarn.
  • Added 6/0 frosted glass seed beads instead of nupps.
